SOS Wyong

WOW! What a mighty effort from Wyong Baptist, SOS Wyong, the parents representatives and the principle of Wyong public primary school.

  A great sense of partnership and friendship was shared by those who were able to contribute some time and effort to further support our local primary school in the development of a friendship garden.

This will hopefully become yet another resource for the school to aid the education and welfare of students.

We will continue to contribute towards this worthwhile cause in the weeks to come and see it come to its completion.

Sooooo many thanks to the parents who offered thier time, the Wyong Baptist congregation and Deb Sirone` of SOS Wyong whose heart and passion for this project managed to unite churches and locals together for a worth while cause. 

There remains a great spirit of excitement and anticipation after completing the first few tasks of the friendship garden on Saturday, as we look forward to the next few stages to come this week.

This week representatives of Wyong Baptist, SOS Wyong and the Salvo’s will be at the community BBQ in Maple circle.

BOB’s is back at Darren’s 7pm for a meal…7:30pm start.

This week @ BOB’s we look at the incredible Jail break of Peter.

Essentially there is some significance between prayer and the Lord Jesus inacting his angelic army if need be.

VERY encouraging for those who know Jesus NOT so encouraging if you don’t

MEN! This week… READ the Chapter and bring something to share and apply to your life and the lives of those we meet with

Some siginificant lessons are being learned this term at DOTS.

In reflecting on what it means to be a loving parent, there has been cause to reflect on our own child hood in both a negative and positive way.

Dots continues to reflect on that relationship between mother and child in a way that is relevant for any mother, sister, daughter.

As I warned… next week we will have all wished that we attended tonight’s prayer meeting

Praying together with one mind has always brought special reward from our heavenly father, particularly if those prayers are related to God’s mission.

We have recieved so much opportunity through the avenue of prayer to live out what we believe.

 Prayer also rejuvenates and reinvigorates. We see this time and time again with the Lord Jesus.

Continue to pray for the great opportunities that will come from our involvement with the school and the local community as we seek to do good works that glorify our Father in heaven

Acts chapter 11! Here we saw yet again what it means to be a Christian.

Here we saw the use of the name Christian for the first time in history.

In the context of chapter 11 we saw the themes of Believing… Turning to follow Christ…

The encouragement t0 remain true to the LORD…

with ‘all’ your heart, that is; your affections.

The mission went 300 miles north of the border to those who had not heard the good news.

This was the challenge for us… to remain true with our affections for God, each other and the wider community.

To stay focussed on the mission and our local mission field.

As Marshy shared during the Lords supper… we musn’t forget how great a salvation we have and that it was given to share with others

BE encouraging with the Gospel.

The time has come at last!

After months of planning we begin to work as a community on the friendship garden proposal of Wyong public primary school.

Get a long to help out if you can.

Bring some morning tea… a shovel or a wheel barrow… and a good attitude to serve our community in this way

Matt and Rich continue to reach out to the community via BBQ and fun and chatter with the kids and Adults.

Generally kicks off between 3:30-4:00 and finishes up around 5:30-6pm every Thursday.

They would love your time and help if you are able and willing.

BOB’s will be meeting at Dons place this week. 7pm for a meal and 7:30 start.

Its seems that the apostles became quite the band of brothers.

Jesus at the helm, the 12 in tow, Saul added to the band and then boom! We have an explosion of something more than a band of brothers.

We have a family of diverse origins coming together as one under Christ  united by the power and vision of the Holy Spirit.

The question for us this week boys as we look over Acts 9:32-11:18 is to ask the question: Was this Band of brothers… Expendable?

Eventually each one of them will die via persecution because of thier FAITH. All but one will see old age.

How might they have been expendable or were they not expendable  for any reason?

Think about the outcome your answer may have on your current life situation.

Continuing to grow in their love and fellowship of God and each other DOTS is meeting at the Patches again this week.

Tuesday morning 9:30am is the place to be for helpful support for each other as we continue to explore the contribution that boundaries for kids can bring to a happy home.
