SOS Wyong

Where to Next?

Initially the leadership team was very keen to start meetings with people in The Entrance, Woy Woy and Budgewoi.

However as we have begun our first plant in Wyong we have come to realise a forgotten socio economic group from areas closer to our region.

It seems Jesus passion for the widow, the orphaned and the poor have become the last person on the list of what is commonly known as ‘Friendship evangelism’.

This is a disturbing trend in churches across the board as we only seem to have love for those who love us.

There is absolutely no opportunity to love your enemies (those opposed to the gospel and Jesus) if you are not putting yourself in a place to love and care for those who will not attend church.

SOS Wyong is built on the belief that as Jesus went out and made disciples so we must have the love and faith to do so in the same manner whether friend or foe.

The 12 whom Jesus called were not childhood friends. Matthew could well have been looked on as an enemy of Israel yet Jesus went to him and called him to follow and as for Judas, well there is someone who reaped the love and friendship of Christ even though he was constantly taking advantage of it.

Our vision is to GO to the unchurched, un evangelised and call them to follow Jesus, doing good works and showing good samaritan type  love in order that they may see our good works and glorify our heavenly Father :)

As SOS Wyong continues to grow we will attempt to plant congregations in the different regions from where we have people travelling, Yet ,with the realisation that there are so many unbelievers close by that are at the bottom of the ‘friendship’ list, we can’t help but feel the next plant won’t be so far off.
